In ONE day...

Our kitchen went from this...

TO THIS...

And all of our bathroom faucets went in...

And our kitchen, pantry, laundry room, dining room have all been reduced to this one space which we like to call 'the tent.'  At dinner last night we talked about how if we were camping this would be a totally SWEET tent.  Grant said, "Yeah, our tent even has a piano!"  So, all is well and we are rolling along.  Each new day brings something new to look at and get excited about!

Progress...

So, I headed out to New Orleans for Imaging USA and when I came home... here's what my shower looked like... and the next day, the grout went in making the whole thing go POW!

Glass tiles before grout...

and AFTER...

I'm in LOVE with how the shower floor turned out with a glass inlay... the tile guy, Rueben actually went home and figured out a way to make it all fit even though orignially the lines were not going to match up!  Brilliant!

We also needed to quick quick pick our cabinet color and wall color (only slightly richer blue than before)

and the countertops went in... so I just set the new faucets up there to get a feel...

Today all the faucets etc. will be installed.   The glass doors for the shower will take 2 additional weeks.  They can't measure for the doors until the shower is completely constructed.  When the glass guy was here on Friday I asked him if this is the prettiest shower he'd ever seen and he started rattling off all the famous people's showers he's finished out.  So, I guess he's seen prettier showers... but to me it's #1!  I'm just giddy over it!

Closed for remodeling...

That's right!  "Photographer Me" is on hiatus while "Homemaker Me" focuses on renovations which are underway!  We are updating the master bathroom and completely overhauling the kitchen for the next several weeks!  Here's a little sneaky peek at our project:

BEFORE:

Day 1... demo:

Love the care the workers took to keep our bedroom dust free... they even used the window for garbage to prevent tracking through the living area!

Day 2 valves...

Day 3... hardibacker...

Day 4... new outlet, niches, and green waterproof seal...

Today is tile day... it's all very exciting!  Here is the glass tile that will cover the top 1/2 of the shower in 4x8 size and the marble for the countertops.  Like our Drew Brees glass? WOO HOO!

OK, Day 5 is now complete... lower 1/2 of shower tile went in...

SHUTTER HAPPY FALL WORKSHOP

This is a VERY thorough class.  We begin at the beginning... and finish shooting in full MANUAL mode!  You will bring your camera and camera manual to class for lots of hands-on training!  I will recommend that you also purchase a 50mm 1.8 lens for creative shooting.  You don't need to buy this before class starts - but you are going to want one after I show you what it can do!  This class will push you off of that little green square on your camera dial and teach you to shoot in the creative modes so that your pictures are more brilliant and amazing than you ever thought they could be!  Here are some samples of some of my students' work after they took this course.  If you WANT to shoot better... you REALLY can!!!
